Norman Veterans Center

Edmond Elks #2578 provided and served a delicious BBQ luncheon from Bibbs Catering and Smokehouse to the Veterans at the Norman Veterans Center on Wednesday, March 15 2023. The luncheon consisted of BBQ beef, Mac and cheese, baked beans, bread and a drink! A terrific turnout of eleven Edmond Elk Volunteers.  Around 50 meals were served including for the staff at the Veterans Center. In addition to the luncheon the Lodge purchased special tables for their wheelchair-bound veterans and donated a check for $536.

This was the first luncheon served at the Veterans Center since the pandemic. It was also great to visit with longtime Norman Veterans Center Activities Director Jeannene Wade , who continues to volunteer at the Center following her retirement!!

RV Park Dedication to Leonard "Speedy" Gonzales

Leonard “Speedy” Gonzales RV Park naming ceremony was at the Lodge on April 16th.  Around 70 of Speedy’s family and Edmond Elk friends braved cool and overcast weather to witness the unveiling of the beautiful signage designed by Elk brothers Dr. DJ Boyce and John Flewelling.

A replica of the signage was framed by DJ and presented to Speedy’s wife, Peggy Gonzales.   We thank the ladies for arranging a delicious luncheon enjoyed by all!  -  Facebook Post with Photos Edmond Life & leisure
